ADJUDICATORS’ ORGANIZATION

2009-2010 MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Prerequisites:

1. Attend a critic judging workshop followed by a renewal workshop every five years.
2. Have a four-year college/university or conservatory degree or certification in Theatre Arts.
3. Agree to become familiar with the rules of the One-Act Play Contest (OAP) and all sections
of the UIL Handbook for One-Act Play.
4. Agree to serve as a single expert critic judge and abide by the “Judges Guide” in the UIL
Handbook for One-Act Play.
5. Pay annual TETA dues of $50.00 and TETAAO dues as prescribed by the Administrative
Committee on or before September 15th of each year (dues are currently $35.00 per year).

The designated representative of an institutional or organizational member does not pay individual TETA dues but must pay AO dues of $35.00 if they intend to serve as critic judges. However, they will not be listed on the approved critic judge list until the institution or organization has paid its
dues.
6. Attend a minimum of one regular or called meeting of TETAAO within each five year period.
7. Annually update a critic judge profile questionnaire with TETAAO which includes a brief biography emphasizing his/her background in educational theatre and commitment to extension teaching.

8. Agree to promptly send copies of your critic judge contracts to the state office.
9. Cooperate to the fullest extent with the Administrative Committee in all matters pertaining to the
well-being of TETAAO.

Judges may be an administrator and/or teacher in a Texas public school not involved in the production, direction or critique of the one-act play entry from their school.

3:00 – 4:00 pm Annual TETAAO business meeting

Information about registration for convention will be posted on the TETA website at www.tetatx.com by Sept 1. You must register for convention & pay membership to attend these workshops. The $35 Adjudicator’s fee is paid on-site during the application review.
