Tournament Information
Spectator Information
Video: Battery pack cameras may be used in the upper media view area. Diving may be video taped from restricted area on the west side of the pool.
Signs: Signs and banners may not be attached to the walls or railings anywhere in the Texas Swimming Center.
Food and Beverages: Food and beverages are restricted to the concession area and may not be brought onto the deck or into the locker rooms. Glassware may not be brought into the Texas Swimming Center at any time. Coolers will not be allowed inside the Texas Swimming Center.
Programs
There will be two programs provided for each school. Heat and lane assignments will be included in this program. Regional final times will be used in seeding.
Scoring
In the State Meet, 16 places will be scored in all individual, relay, and diving events. Points shall be scored as follows:
- Individuals:
20-17-16-15-14-13-12-11 for finals
9-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 for consolation - Relays:

Consolation Finals
In the State Meet, the eight fastest swimmers in the preliminaries of each championship event shall qualify for the finals. The remaining eight swimmers shall qualify for the consolation finals. A consolation swimming finalist shall not place higher than the highest contested place (ninth) in the consolation finals regardless of time.
In diving, the finals round will include 16 divers, any of which may finish in the 16 places to be scored.
Deck Bleachers
Coaches are responsible to see that only school coaches and swimmers are in deck bleachers (no children, friends, cheerleaders, etc.).
Shoes
Street shoes are not permitted on the deck at any time.
Locker Rooms
Towels will not be available. Swimmers and divers must be responsible for securing their own valuables. Locks may be used, but must be removed after each session.
Entrances
All contestants enter from the lower level with your tattoo. Bleachers are provided for contestants and coaches on the deck level. If contestants or coaches leave, they will be required to exit the back door.
Passes
All coaches, swimmers, and divers must have tattoos to be admitted into the pool area. Each school will be provided one tattoo for each participant and one for each coach (maximum of two coaches). Schools may appoint one individual to videotape the diving for the purpose of All American Diving qualifications; this person will be issued a media pass. Any other person who needs a pass must purchase a ticket. No extra tattoos or media passes will be given if lost.
Starts
The horn starting system will be available upon request for practicing starts during warm-ups.
Lap Counters
Only meet officials and designated lap-counters during the 500-yard free style will be allowed to stand on the south bulkhead.
Coaches Seating
Coaches may remain either on the diving pool deck, bulkhead, or in the deck bleacher area. No swimmer will be permitted on the diving pool, bulkhead, or deck during swimming competition. During Swimming competition, the center deck dividing swimming and diving pools is reserved for coaches only. Non-school coaches and athletes will be asked to leave this area.
Relay Teams
Any eight swimmers reported to the UIL are qualified to swim. Relay forms must be filled out and returned to the announcer's stand 45 minutes prior to the beginning of the race.
Results
Heat results will be posted in the hall near the pool entrance.
- Final Heat Sheets: For finals, each coach with a team participating will be provided with one heat sheet.
- Medal Winners: Swimmers winning first, second, and third places in the finals ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPORTING TO THE AWARDS FOR REPORTING TO THE AWARD STAND IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THEIR EVENT. Winners must report on their own because meet officials do not have time to chase them down.
- Be sure all participants are at the awards stand.
Trophies
Championship trophy and runner-up plaque will be presented after the last event.
Swim Rules
National Federation Rules will be followed. Decisions of the referee are final except that protests concerning the misapplication of a rule or setting aside of a rule may be filed with the meet committee. These must be made in writing to Meet Director.
