Suggestions & Requirements to Complete a TILF Application

Refer to the current TILF brochure 2008-2009 Scholarship Opportunities, available early March 2008, for individual donor requirements, or to the UIL Constitution and Contest Rules, C&CR, Appendix II, or in the listing found under List of Scholarships on this website.

Application and supporting data
  • Type or print all information on the application. Do not send this page with your application.
    • You must have a transcript, photograph, principal’s statement and IRS 1040 Forms pages 1 & 2 with the application forms.

    • Other letters of recommendation from teachers, coaches or members of your community are not required but may be included.

    • SIGN your application. This is essential!

  • All applicants must complete pages one and two.
    • Welch applicants must complete page three. Pages three and four list requirements for Welch applicants.

    • Accounting Careers applicants must attend one of the colleges or universities listed on page four that are approved by the Accounting Education Foundation of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, Inc.

  • Mail application materials under the same cover to insure receipt of all information.

Failure to answer all questions and to supply all supporting data will restrict the applicant’s review by the scholarship committee, and therefore, the chances for a scholarship.

Mailing your application
  • TILF prefers no extra envelopes to be included with your application. However, schools not wanting to disclose information to students may place the transcript and/or principal’s letter in sealed envelopes for the student to send with their application.

  • TILF requests that no staples be used in any of your application materials.

  • Don’t submit applications in special folders or presentations, as the awards committee does not view them, they are discarded.

  • Questions may be directed to Brenda Baxendale, Scholarship Coordinator (512) 232-4937. E-mail: bbaxendale@mail.utexas.edu
